LPSD Board of Education July 15, 2010 meeting recap

July 15, 2010

The Lewis-Palmer Board of Education voted unanimously to accept Ted Bauman as the finalist for Interim Superintendent at its special meeting July 15, 2010.

Board President John Mann explained that the process used to find an Interim included using a consultant, other Boards, and their Administrative team. They received a significant number of applicant packets for the one year position. The Board and four District Principals spent several hours yesterday at an Executive session interviewing the four top candidates. He noted that all were excellent candidates within the Education field and with a great deal of experience.

According to State requirements, the Board must announce their choice for finalist to the public and wait a two-week period before the official vote to approve as the Interim. The formal action is scheduled for Thursday, July 29, 2010.

It was also noted that the search and selection for the permanent Superintendent will be the major focus for the Board in the coming school year.

Bauman served as D-38 Superintendent from 1998 to 2003, when he retired.
