MONUMENT, CO – Three candidates have been selected for interviews in the process to find a permanent Superintendent of Schools in the Lewis-Palmer School District. The Board of Education chose the candidates from a field of 23 applicants after a national search.

The applicants chosen are, in no particular order:
• Kevin E. Hahn, currently Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Schools in the Poudre School District, Fort Collins, Colorado;
• John Borman, currently Principal of Lewis-Palmer High School in District 38; and
• Mark A. Payler, currently Superintendent of Weld County School District in Fort Lupton, Colorado.

Board President John Mann said, “It reflects well on our district that so many excellent candidates are interested in working here. It was difficult to narrow the field down. I am confident that we have chosen three outstanding people with exceptional qualifications and our next steps to pick the finalist will be challenging.”

D-38 Interim Superintendent Ted Bauman added, “I am pleased with how the Board members conducted the review of the applications. They were thorough, asked great questions, and gave excellent justifications for the reasoning behind their choices. The Board and I are excited to bring the candidates in for interviews, a tour of the district, and the public reception planned next Saturday.”

These candidates will be asked to appear for interviews February 11th and 12th. Interview panels include Board members, school staff, parents, and community members. The Board interview will be held in open session. The final selection will be announced at the regular board meeting Thursday, February 17th.

MEET THE CANDIDATES: A community reception for the three candidates is planned for Saturday, February 12th at 4:30 p.m. at the D-38 administration building. The public is welcome to attend, and anyone interested should check the district website prior to the reception in case of last-minute changes.

*NOTE: this is a revised notice.
