Meet the Candidates! Tonight & Monday

October 5, 2011

Did you know that Lewis-Palmer School District has 3 School Board seats up for election next month?

Our Board is composed of 5 seats. The boundaries of the District are divided geographically and designed to have an elected member of the public who resides in each area to represent it. Each elected member serves 4 years with a two-term limit. This year (all school board elections are held bi-annually) Areas #2, #4 and #5 Director Districts are up for election.

Even though the person seeking election must reside within the Board district area they will represent, the public of the entire School District boundaries vote for all Board districts. That means each voter will vote for 3 candidates in this election. The 2011 election is by mail-in ballot only. Voters should receive their ballots sometime next week and they must be returned by November 1st. We recommend you mail your ballot by Wednesday, October 26th to ensure it is received in time.

All 3 current Board members are seeking re-election : John Mann (#2), Mark Pfoff (#4), and Robb Pike (#5) (see Meet the Board on the BoE’s homepage for information on each candidate).

New candidates have also come forward for each area district: Ken Valdez (#2), Gordon Reichal (#4), and Al Maurer (#5) ( open FLYER D-38 candidates 2011 for more information on these candidates).

All the candidates have been invited to attend two public forums beginning tonight and we invite you to join in! Get informed, involved and VOTE!!!
